Fertilization

Healthy trees and shrubs start with healthy soil, and many landscape problems trace back to compaction, poor nutrients, or imbalanced pH. A proper fertilization plan supports stronger roots, better growth, and improved resilience through heat, drought, and seasonal stress.

Soil is the foundation of a healthy landscape, and organic matter plus good aeration are two of the biggest drivers of long-term plant health. Urban soils are often exhausted, over-compacted, and low in organic material, and they may also have an unbalanced pH that limits nutrient uptake. At R.W. Emmott, we assess and diagnose problem areas to determine the best approach for your property, rather than applying a one-size-fits-all treatment. Depending on conditions, sterile soils may benefit from carefully selected slow-release fertilizers, while compacted soils may need aeration through deep root fertilization, mulching, or air spade work to restore oxygen and improve root performance.
